Increase revenue for P&G Oral-B Powerbrush by leveraging IoT technology as a new sales channel.

Connecting P&G with Cigna, we leveraged their networks to create a new IoT-enabled Dental Insurance Program that delivered a new dental insurance offering to Cigna users. Our team utilized the power of connected data and services to help Cigna users better understand the impact of their daily brushing behaviors and gamified their experience by offering benefits and rewards based on that behavior.

Concept.

We developed an app experience integrating the Oral-B powerbrush with an engaging UI.

Program.

A holistic program was built gauging consumer demand for an “add-on” wellness program that connects good dental care practices with incentives and rewards to reduce their dental insurance costs. 

Brand.

Developed an ownable and engaging brand to fit the program.

Results.

Reward based brushing changed user behvior with almost 70% of users brushing for more than 2min; up from 47% at the start.

Over the course of 6 months, Cigna saw a drop in 8% of dental costs for participants
